Lukas Wieser Mag.iur., LL.M. (IELPO)

Lukas Wieser is a counsel at ZEILER and a specialist in labour and employment law, as well as employment and commercial litigation.

He has extensive experience advising companies and managers in all aspects of labour and employment law and representing employers in employment litigation and trials before Austrian courts. His expertise comprises, amongst others, cases of employment termination, discrimination and (sexual) harassment claims, hiring and performance management, as well as drafting contracts with executives.

Lukas advises foreign and national companies in drafting various types of employment agreements, such as employment contracts and shop agreements, and on restructuring processes and transactions. He assists employers in the full range of industrial relations law, from representing them against unions and work councils, to representing against individual work council members. He also assists national and international clients in global mobility and employee immigration scenarios.

Lukas also advises companies on data protection, with a special focus on employees’ data, and advises and represents companies in disputes arising from franchise, distribution & agency agreements. Further, his practice includes the ongoing support of clients in commercial matters. He regularly assists and represents clients in commercial disputes before domestic courts.

In addition, he supports employers with tailored in-house training in the form of coaching and workshops on all labour law topics.

Lukas is also a lecturer at the University of Vienna (Arbeitsrecht LL.M.) and on Austrian and European Employment Law at the University of Applied Science BFI Vienna. He frequently speaks on employment law at national and international conferences and seminars. He is also an elected member of the Executive Committee of AIJA – International Association of Young Lawyers.

He was admitted to the Austrian bar in 2016 and is both a graduate of the University of Vienna (Mag. iur. 2009) and the University of Barcelona (LL.M., 2015).
